New SAP SuccessFactors 1H2024 release: what should think of it?

The new SAP SuccessFactors release has been live for a few weeks now. So what should we make of it?
THE PROMISE

The new features rolled out in the SAP SuccessFactors 1H2024 release aim to boost efficiency, ensure compliance and enhance the overall user experience, incorporating advanced AI technologies to help meet strategic talent and HR management objectives.

AREAS OF INNOVATION AND IMPROVEMENT

  1. Enhanced User Experience:
    • Artificial Intelligence (AI): helps draft job postings, interview questionnaires and refine candidate selection. It speeds up goal creation and aids in compensation analysis.
  1. Joule (virtual assistant): provides accurate answers to employees’ questions, strengthens self-service and guides HR in daily tasks. Currently available in English. All modules are impacted, but most functional cases developed so far concern Employee Central.
  1. Work Tech: direct integration with Microsoft Teams for smoother manager-employee workflows.

The potential is huge. Clients are eager to adopt these new features to enrich the user experience and many are launching pilot projects to explore these AI premium functions and better understand their costs.

  • Managing opportunities for employees and applicants:
  • Talent intelligence hub: quickly build a competency library based on job data.
  • Opportunity marketplace: AI-based job recommendations and custom tasks based on employees’ skills and preferences.
  • SAP SuccessFactors Learning: increased interaction for learners and improved training record management.
  • Recruiting: better recruiter experience with skills extracted directly from CVs, plus Google Maps integration in job searches.

  • HR Agility and compliance:
  1. Employee Central: profile-experience updates, org chart modernization, quick actions in Joule and Microsoft Teams.
  1. Onboarding: better new-hire experience.
  1. Benefits: enhanced user journey for social benefit sign-ups, with added flexibility for administrators.
  1. Time Management: conversational interactions for time-related tasks. Better integration with SAP S/4HANA enabling single time-entry capture.

Clients have very positively received these improvements. Profile-experience updates could use further optimization to deliver a streamlined, top-notch user experience”.
