French Gendarmerie: overhaul of the Intranet Portal

The Gendarmerie Nationale is a French armed force responsible for policing - especially in rural and peri-urban areas, as well as on transportation routes. It is under the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas but reports to the Ministry of the Armed Forces for its military missions. 

THE NEED…

• Rebuild the intranet portal, where the tech stack hindered functional evolution

• Guide the Gendarmerie’s Directorate-General in redesigning and developing the intranet portal

Scoping needs

• Launching & updating a product backlog through workshops with the DGGN
• Using planning poker to gauge complexity and shape sprint content

Building a PWA Angular application

• Developing & testing the solution (widget grid, favorites, tabs, widget types, notifications, sharing, etc.)
• Introducing Git submodules for widget management independent of the portal
• Regular client check-ins
• Code review workshops with the client
• Retrospective functional documentation of the portal

RGAA compliance (General Accessibility Standard for Administrations)
